Limassol is one of the most important tourist destinations in Cyprus. It is the island's second largest city, and is home to the Cypriot wine industry. There is a wealth of attractions to explore in and around Limassol, including Limassol Castle where the English King - King Richard the Lionheart - married Queen Joanna in 1191. Not far from Limassol is the ancient city of Kourion, where the 4th Century BC Sanctuary of Apollo Ylates can be found along with the stunning Hellenistic Theatre.
